Controversy in Algeria over the appointment of a minister of Jewish origin

Algerie-Focus, the Algerian French-language website reported that internet users on social networking sites and blogs attacked the newly appointed Minister of National Education, Nouria Benghabrit because of her Jewish origin

The website mentioned some even went as far as to claim the Algerian news agency did not write her full name "Nouria Benghabrit-Remaoun" because "Remaoun" is a Jewish name
